Run a DTeach organization

Run a DTeach organization

Hold your school in DTeach — members, groups, courses, and roles.

If you do not run Moodle, DTeach holds your school itself. An organization is that container: everyone who belongs to it, the classes you split them into, and the courses you share with those classes.

Already running Moodle? You do not need an organization — connect your Moodle instead.

How the pieces fit

  • The organization is your school. People join it once.
  • Groups are your classes. A member belongs to as many groups as needed, as a teacher in one and a student in another if that is the reality.
  • Courses are linked to groups. Linking a course to a group is what gives that class access to it.
  • Roles decide who can do what, at each of those levels.

Set it up in four steps

  1. Create the organization
  2. Create your groups
  3. Invite members
  4. Give them roles

Then build the course itself — see Inside a course.
