Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of DTeach. By creating an account or connecting your LMS, you agree to them. Last updated 5 August 2026.

1. Who we are

DTeach is operated by DTeach, France. You can reach us at contact@dteach.net.

2. The service

DTeach is a collaborative teaching platform: courses written in a real-time editor with LaTeX and Markdown, shared whiteboards, student questions and answers, and personal notes. It can be used on its own through an organization, or launched from Moodle or another LMS over LTI.

We improve the service continuously. Features may change, and we may retire ones that are little used. Breaking changes to a paid plan are announced in advance.

3. Accounts and organizations

  • You must give accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
  • An organization is administered by the people its owner appoints. Administrators can invite, remove, and manage members and their content.
  • If you create an organization on behalf of a school, university, or company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it to these terms.
  • Accounts are personal. Do not share a login between several people.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account and, if you administer one, under your organization.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use DTeach to:

  • break the law, or infringe someone else's rights;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or harmful to minors;
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
  • probe, load-test, or circumvent the security of the service without our written consent;
  • resell or white-label the service without an agreement with us.

We may suspend an account or an organization that puts the service, its users, or their data at risk. Where we can, we tell you first.

5. Your content

Courses, documents, diagrams, questions, and notes you create stay yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, back up, render, and transmit them so the service works — nothing more. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for having the rights to the material you upload, including any third-party text, images, or media in your courses.

6. Plans and billing

Plans, limits, and prices are listed on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are excluding VAT unless stated otherwise; VAT is added where applicable.

You can cancel at any time; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and the service stays available until then. We do not refund partial periods unless the law requires it. Price changes are announced at least 30 days before they apply to your next renewal.

7. LMS integrations

When DTeach is launched from Moodle or another LMS over LTI, the LMS remains the source of truth for enrolment and identity. You are responsible for the configuration on the LMS side and for the data it passes to us. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of your LMS.

8. Availability and support

We work to keep DTeach available and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service on self-serve plans. Maintenance windows are announced when they are expected to be disruptive. Availability and response commitments for the School & Universities plan are set out in the agreement signed with your institution.

9. Personal data

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy. Where we process personal data on behalf of your organization, we act as processor and you as controller, on the terms of our data processing agreement.

10. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability over any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service during that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost teaching time, or lost data where you had the means to keep your own copy.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death, personal injury, or wilful misconduct.

11. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if we stop offering the service. On termination you have 30 days to export your content, after which we delete it in line with our retention rules.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email or in the product at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use DTeach after that date means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of France, and disputes fall to the courts of France, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of consumer law where they apply.
