Create the groups
Groups are your classes — they decide who sees which course.
A group is a class: a set of people, and the courses shared with them.
Create a group
Open Groups in your organization and press Create a group. Give it a name your
teachers will recognize — Year 10 — Biology beats Group 3 — and pick a color to tell
it apart at a glance.
Add people to it
From the group's page, use Add members. Paste the emails, separated by commas or new lines, and pick the role they get in this group: Teacher or Student. Up to 30 people per batch.
People who do not have a DTeach account yet are invited by email — see Invite members.
There is also an invitation link on the same dialog, for when it is easier to drop a link in a class channel than to collect 30 addresses. Regenerating the link invalidates the previous one.
Share a course with a group
A course reaches a class through a group, not person by person.
Open the course's settings and add the group under Linked groups. From that moment:
- teachers of that group can edit the course,
- students of that group can open it,
- anyone joining the group later gets access automatically.
You can link a course to several groups — that is how the same material serves three classes without three copies.
Removing access
Remove the link between the course and the group, or remove the person from the group. Either way their access disappears; the course and its content are untouched.
