Create the organization

Create it

From your dashboard, open the switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose New organization. DTeach walks you through three steps: a tour of what an organization does, the plan you want, and its identity.

You are asked for two things:

• Organization name — the full name people will recognize, for example Springfield High.
• Short name — a short handle, lowercase, for example springfield.

Both can be changed later in Settings.

You are the admin

Whoever creates the organization is its first admin. Admins can do everything: create groups, invite people, change roles, and open every course in the organization. Promote a second admin early — see Roles.

Plans

You can start free and change plans later. The plan sets how much room the organization has; you manage it from Settings.

What comes next

An empty organization does nothing on its own. Create the classes that will hold your people:

• Create your groups
