Reuse a course in several places

You teach the same material to three classes. You do not want three copies to maintain.

One DTeach course can back as many activities as you like: three Moodle courses, two activities in the same course, any mix. It is the same course, so an edit made once is an edit made everywhere.

How to do it

1. In Moodle, add a DTeach activity the way you normally would.
2. When DTeach asks what the activity should open, choose Use an existing course.
3. Pick the course from the list and press Continue.

That is the whole flow. The activity now opens the course you already built.

What the list contains

Only the courses you own — the ones you created — and only within the Moodle site you are launching from. A course you were added to as a collaborator will not appear.

If you have no course yet, DTeach creates a new one for you instead.

What everyone shares

Every class that reaches the course through an activity lands in the same course:

• the same documents, the same structure, the same whiteboards,
• the same questions — a question asked by one class is visible to the others,
• their own notes, which stay private to their author.

Each person still gets the role their own context gives them, so a colleague who is an instructor in their Moodle course can edit, while their students read.

Across two different Moodle sites

Reuse works within one Moodle site. On another site you are a different DTeach account, so your courses are not in the list there — identities are per Moodle site.
