There are two ways to run DTeach, and you only need one of them. If you just want to open an account and try it, start with Getting started.

Use DTeach in the Moodle you already run

You already have Moodle. Your students, teachers, and enrolments stay there. DTeach is added as an external tool: people click through from Moodle and land in a DTeach course, already signed in and with the role they already have.

Run a DTeach organization

You have no Moodle, and you want DTeach to hold your school: members, classes, and courses. You create the organization, build groups, invite people, and give them roles.

Both paths lead to the same course

Whichever setup you pick, a course works the same way: a tree of documents everyone edits live, with notes, questions, and whiteboards.
