Inside a course

Student editing

Open a section for your students to write in, and close it again.

By default students read the course. You open editing where you want them to work.

Switching it on

Right-click the section in the sidebar and choose Enable student editing. An unlocked icon marks it, and students can now write in that document exactly like you do — same editor, same blocks, same live sync.

Remove student editing locks it back. What they wrote stays.

It cascades

Enabling editing on a section enables it on everything under it. Open a whole chapter in one gesture, or a single exercise by putting it in its own section.

What it is good for

  • An exercise sheet the class fills in together.
  • A shared summary at the end of a chapter, written by whoever is in the room.
  • Group work on a whiteboard inside an open section.

Editing and hiding

A hidden section is invisible to students, whether editing is on or not. Hidden wins: prepare the section with editing already enabled, then reveal it when the class starts.
