Why we started this blog, where DTeach comes from, and what we're building it with.
Why this blog?
I was reading Rework, by DHH and Jason Fried. They discuss the idea of a by-product in Chapter 4: "Progress".
A by-product is a product that comes out of the main product.
It can be monetizable, they insist that the best salespeople spot anything monetizable with ease, or it can simply be part of the brand image.
So I decided to start this blog in order to:
- Share my journey
- Share knowledge
- Publish release notes
Why DTeach?
Even before DTeach, I have always loved sharing and teaching what I know. DTeach may well be a product of that passion too.
The idea of becoming a teacher has always stayed in the back of my mind, even though I followed a much more traditional engineering path... During my studies, the entrepreneurial bug got me (a term I don't much like, by the way). I wanted to build the tool I would have wanted as a student.
